Thespian of the Week (TWOT)

Thespian of The Week  (TWOT) is our way of recognizing and acknowledging superb thespians in our department. We alternate weeks where Thespian Council decides, and a vote by all of our current thespians. Our weekly thespians receive the honor of being plastered across all of our social media, posted in the Pepsi Room, and also, usually, reposted by the official Beaverton High School Instagram. Thank you to all of our TWOTs for all of their hard work!

Thespian of the Week

1.9-1.13

Welcome our Thespian of the Week: Maxx Rosman! The first TWOT in awhile, we would like to recognize Maxx as a hard-worker and involved newbie. Through all of his work with Get Smart and Bang Bang You’re Dead, Maxx has proven himself to be someone who is reliable, skilled, and willing to try new things. He’s been a primary carpenter in set-building and light board operator during Get Smart. He’s also jumped in last minute on numerous occasions to volunteer his time with concessions, crew, and shows. Thank you for all of your hard work, Maxx, and thanks for joining the department.

Welcome our Thespian of the Week: Ainsley Adams! Ainsley is new to drama, and played our wonderful, sassy Ms. Finch. She’s also helped to choreograph the Dicken’s dance, as well as being kind, supportive, and ready to work hard and play. Ainsley is a wonderful person outside of theatre, too, helping to organize the sock toss and working collaboratively in Student Leadership. As this week’s TWOT, we would also like to cordially invite her to Sadie’s with Natalie Marssdorf. Thanks for all of your compassion, Ainsley!

Welcome our Thespian of the Week, Rachel Hetchler! Rachel is a wonderful thespian who works hard, tries her best, and always shows up. Our emergency Zalinka, Rachel had her lines down the DAY AFTER she was cast. Not only that, but she took on the role, learned the accent, and stunned our audiences. Rachel is absolutely remarkable. She’s has been involved in drama for the last few years, working hard to accommodate each new role and audition for another. We love having Rachel around, and we thank her for all her hard work and dedication.

Welcome our Thespian of the Week: Natalie Harwood! Natalie is one of the three in the department this year, but this week, she’s in the spotlight. Hardworking, fun, and always ready to run her cast, Natalie holds the role of 99 in our upcoming play Get Smart. A new addition, she has exceeded our expectations portraying a lead, and we look forward to working with her in the future. Great job, Natalie!!

Welcome our Thespian of the Week, Dawson Fryer!! Dawson is starting his second year with Beaverton Drama as our very own Max Smart (Blue Cast). He performed previously in 1984 and Breakfast Club, and earns his title now through his kindness, hard work, and humor. Thanks for keeping up, Dawson, and may the spoons be with you.

Welcome our Thespian of the Week: Tala Alawadat. Though we had Tala only briefly, we enjoyed every moment of having her onboard our crew. Playing Zalinka, Tala was more than ready to throw herself into new experiences and make new friends. Whether it be during rehearsals, parties, or just every day, we’ll miss you, Tala. Thank you for coming into the department, and we wish you the best!

Welcome our Thespian of the Week: JR Valentine! JR is some weirdo that just kind of showed up one day, but we love him anyways. He has since alighted to Thespian Council, involved himself in all of the plays he could since 2015, and scored a lead in Get Smart. JR is kind, he's always there for people, he always lends a hand, and he's our own personal teddy bear. Thank you for your hard work and presence, JR, and congratulations for earning the title Thespian of the Week.

Welcome our Thespian of the Week, Kennedy Raphelt! Kennedy, newly introduced to the department as our very own Ms. Big, we look forward to getting to know her! Kennedy has brought nothing but enthusiasm and energy to auditions, rehearsal, and the department. She has attended all of her rehearsals and remained engaged and in character, and for that, we give her her title! Thank you, Kennedy!

10.10-10.14

Welcome our Thespian of the Week: Romie Avivi Stuhl!! We don’t understand just where Romie came from, but she better stick around. Romie brings a light and an energy to drama that is simply unmatched. She works hard, she attends all of her rehearsals, and she makes sure to have fun and laugh it up. Filling the role of Betsy in Get Smart-- that is, Betsy Wong-- we gladly welcome Romie and all that she brings.

10.31-11.4

Welcome our Thepian of the Week: Shanon Keehn! Shanon is our wonderful Clerk of troupe #1634, and all things points fall to her responsibility. She is chiefly involved with Get Smart, where she plays Chief, and watching her come out of her shell as this high-energy boss and as a student leader has been absolutely wonderful. Shanon always attends rehearsals, puts in her all, receives direction beautifully, and is kind to the people around her. She also has a sick sense of humor. Thank you for your time and energy, Shanon, and congratulations!

Welcome our first Thespian of the Week: Kassi Savage!! Kassi Savage is a new member to council and she wholly deserves the title. Secretary, Beatnik, Bernard, Mary the Brat… Completely enveloping herself in the art, she’s not giving away her shot. Kassi has hit the ground running, redesigning our entire social media campaign and spouting out ideas faster than the speed of light. Our favorite spaz, we absolutely love Kassi, and we welcome her to the 2016-2017 Beaverton Drama Season.
